Cheese & Spring Onion Pâté on Apple Rounds


  • 65 g (Ľ pack) Pyotts VitaSnack Wholewheat Crisps
  • 45 ml green spring onion tops, finely chopped
  • 200 g low-fat cream cheese, ham or chive flavour
  • 100 g grated mature cheddar cheese
  • 30 ml prepared wholegrain mustard
  • 2 – 3 small red apples
  • lemon juice

Chef's hint: This is a clever way to use up all those small bits of cheese lying around in the fridge.


Place the Pyotts VitaSnack Crisps and spring onion in the processor, process finely and transfer to a shallow bowl.

Mix together the cream cheese, cheddar and mustard. Shape into a log, about 5 cm in diameter. Roll the log in the crumb mixture. Place in the fridge to firm.

To serve, core the apples but do not peel. Slice into round, medium-thick slices and dredge with a little lemon juice. Slice the cheese log and top each apple slice with a cheese slice. Arrange on a serving platter and serve.

Makes about 12 – 16.
