Sasko Yorkshire Pudding


  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 500 g lean mince
  • 100 g courgettes, cubed
  • 1 red pepper, chopped
  • 5 ml dried herbs
  • 5 ml chopped chilli or chilli sauce
  • 1 tin chopped tomato
  • 60 ml chutney
  • 375 ml Sasko Cake Flour (180g)
  • 125 ml milk
  • 125 ml water
  • 2 large eggs
  • 65 ml sunflower oil

Chef's hint: Serve the Yorkshire puddings straight from the oven.


For the mince:

Fry onions in a pan until lightly browned, add mince, courgettes, red pepper and dried herbs to the pan. Add the chopped chilli, tomato paste and chutney. Simmer for 15 minutes until thick and saucy.

Serve hot with the fresh Sasko Yorkshire puddings.

For the Sasko Yorkshire Pudding:

Preheat the oven to 220C. You will need a 12-hole muffin tray.
Sift the flour into a bowl. Mix the milk, water and eggs together and combine with sifted flour, beat until smooth and pour into a jug.

Pour a dash of oil into each muffin cup and place in the oven for 3 minutes until hot and smoking. Remove muffin tray and quickly pour batter into the sizzling hot muffin cups.

Return to the oven for 15 minutes until puffed up and golden brown.

Serves 6 - 8.
