Easiest-Ever Raisin
& Walnut Bread


  • 900 g (6 x 250 ml) Sasko Whole Wheat Flour
  • 50 g (250 ml) Sasko Digestive Bran
  • 7.5 ml salt
  • 10 g sachet instant yeast
  • 125 ml shredded coconut
  • 250 ml seeded raisins
  • 250 ml chopped walnuts
  • 15 ml brown sugar
  • 25 ml molasses (optional)
  • 45 ml honey
  • 65 ml sunflower oil
  • 800 ml warm water

In a large bowl, lightly mix together the Sasko Whole Wheat Flour,Digestive Bran, salt, yeast, coconut, raisins and walnuts.

In a large jug, whisk together the sugar, molasses or honey, oil and warm water. Stir well and slowly add to the flour mixture, stirring until well-combined.

Divide the dough between two 23 cm x 13 cm loaf pans. Cover and leave to rise in warm place until dough rises to the top of pans
Bake in a preheated oven of 200 C for 30 minutes then reduce the heat to 190 C and bake for a further 30 minutes.

Cool for 5 minutes before turning out onto a cooling rack.

Yields 2 medium loaves
