This is one of those recipes passed down from generation to generation! When we serve it, it literally disappears within seconds of landing on the table!

Cara-Mint Tart
An original original!


  • 2 x 360 g cans caramel treat
  • 65 ml lemon juice
  • 250 ml cream, stiffly beaten
  • 1 packet Tennis biscuits
  • 2 x 50 g peppermint crisp chocolate bars, chopped

Chef's hint:

Buy double the ingredients - the requests for making this beauty again will not stop! On the other hand, halve the ingredients to make a smaller tart if you are just one who will enjoy this bliss ... lol! Cooking is like all art forms flexible, so that you may present as well as interpret it your way!


Whisk together the caramel and lemon juice. Fold in the cream and set aside.

Spray a 20 cm square dish with non-stick spray and place a layer of Bakers Tennis Biscuits in the bottom. Spoon half of the caramel mixture over the biscuits and sprinkle with half of the peppermint crisp, followed by a layer of biscuits. Repeat another layer of caramel, ending with a final layer of peppermint crisp.

Place in the fridge to set before serving.
