Homemade hot chocolate is so much better than the store bought versions available in the dairy aisle. This recipe is so easy that we let the children make it!


Hot Chocolate

Ingredients


  • 1 litre milk
  • 180 g dark chocolate, coarsely broken
  • 10 ml vanilla essence
  • 6 white marshmallows
  • chocolate shavings (optional)



Method



Place the milk in a saucepan and add the chocolate. Heat over medium heat and when the chocolate is soft, remove from heat. Add the vanilla and froth with a whisk or beater. Pour into cups and top each cup with a marshmallow. Garnish with chocolate shavings (if using) and serve.

Serves 6.
