Some people are afraid that the whites around the soft egg yolks are uncooked. If you fry your eggs this way, you are assured of perfectly cooked whites – even on top of the yolks – while the yolks remain soft and runny. Watch our video to see how easy it is.

Perfectly Fried Eggs

  • 30 ml butter
  • 1 – 6 large Nulaid eggs
  • 15 ml cold water

Hint: The protein in egg whites cook very fast and the higher the heat, the more rubbery they become. So use medium heat when you fry eggs. The whites will set properly without being rubbery.

Heat the butter in a large frying pan and add the Nulaid eggs. As soon as the egg whites are set, add the cold water to the centre of the pan. Cover the pan immediately with a lid and allow the steam to cook the tops of the eggs. When done to your liking, remove from pan and serve.

PS: Nulaid eggs are farm fresh and grain fed and gives you a choice of free-range or canola eggs – their yolks being bright orange from those heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. . For more information go to
