This simple method eliminates the guessing from boiling eggs and you can even cook the family's eggs to order. This method also prevents the eggs cracking as they hit the boiling water. Watch the video to see how simple it is.   

No-guess Boiled Eggs

Ingredients


  • 1 – 6 extra-large Nulaid eggs



Hint: Your own results may differ slightly from ours. This is due to the varying thickness of saucepan bottoms, the size and number of eggs you are cooking and the temperature of the eggs before you cook them, from the fridge or at room temperature. With a bit of practice you'll quickly determine your own times and get the results you desire.

Method


Place the eggs into a heavy-bottomed saucepan and cover with cold water. Place the pan onto a heated plate and let the water come to a boil.

As soon as it boils, remove the pan from the heat. Leave the eggs in the water without a lid. Now start timing:

• For soft-boiled eggs – 2 minutes

• For medium-boiled eggs – 4½ minutes

• For hard-boiled eggs – 10 minutes

Your own times may differ slightly (see Hint) but you will soon get the hang of this method which time and again, produces near-as-perfect boiled eggs according to your preference.
